Barshaini is connected to Kasol Village, the starting point of the Kheerganga trek. Keep reading to know how to walk 24 km in a day, and you can do that too. But before we get into the specifics of the walk, you need to prepare yourself for hiking and what clothes to wear during trekking. Here are the ways to reach Kheerganga:
The road is the easiest way to reach Parvati Valley. From Delhi to Kasol is approximately 565 kilometers and 12 hours; take frequent breaks for a calm and comfortable ride. Most roads from Delhi to Kasol are good because Parvati Valley is a popular tourist destination. However, the stunning views make up the distance to Parvati Valley.
It is the fastest mode of transport to Kasol. The closest airport to Kasol is the Kullu Manali Airport in Bhuntar. There are few flights to Bhuntar, and their consistency may need to be better in addition to their rarity. You can use buses and cabs to continue your journey. The second (more reliable, safer option) is to fly into Mohali Airport in Chandigarh, which is about 300 kilometers distant.
Kasol is located in a remote small town in Himachal Pradesh, so it does not have any direct connection to the Railway lines to other cities. So, the closest station is Joginder Nagar Railway Station. You may hire a taxi from this location and travel to Kasol in nearly 4 hours.
There are three major routes to Kheerganga that you can choose from Barshaini. Whichever way you choose, the trek is an effortless gentle climb at the beginning. The Kheerganga trek is 24 km long, and the terrain is consistently a gradual ascent or decline. The Kheerganga Trek is a day hike that may be finished in a single day.
It is the most popular and quickest approach. You can reach Kheerganga within 4 hours, and you must take a left turn after crossing the Barshaini Bridge to Nakhtam Village. Depending on your pace, it will take 3–4 hours to travel this route to Kheerganga. This clearly defined trail follows The Parvati River on the left bank.
It is tricky and less popular than Nakhtam and Tosh village routes. To follow this path, walk in Barshaini towards the right side of the bridge and head towards Kalga village. There are extensive woodlands all around this path.
There is still another alternative route that will eventually converge with the Nakthan Route. This path is also relatively popular, particularly with those who stayed in Tosh before beginning the trek. Near Tosh village, the Tosh River passes through before joining the Parvati River close to Pulga.
